Isa Catarina grew up in an enthralling city from the north of Portugal called Braga. She studied dentistry at University of Porto and completed her primary dental training and first master qualification in 2011.

She is passionate about jaw development and Orthodontics and the impact it has on a patient’s quality of life. This inspired her to pursue further training within Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry.

She completed a postgraduate programme followed by specialisation in Orthodontics with Honors in Porto (2014). She worked in a hospital environment and in different specialist practices in Portugal, being part of excellent teams and working alongside experienced professionals and providing all aspects of Orthodontics from a very young age (age of 4).

She moved to Wales in 2016 and her devoted commitment to her patients flourished and enrolled herself in further specialized courses in Orthodontics and completed another postgraduate programme and her second master’s degree in Orthodontics in Birmingham with distinction.

Isa settled in Bristol in 2021 and is highly trained and experienced in early interceptive orthodontic treatment, focusing on both children and adult treatments, growth, function and breathing to create comprehensive treatments plans to enrich the wellbeing of her patients. Also offering myofunctional therapy alongside orthodontic treatments.

She’s always learning new techniques to provide orthodontic treatment with a truly minimally invasive approach for each patient and uses the latest techniques, such as clear aligners, fixed braces, lingual appliances, and growth-focused early appliances, combining modern techniques with a strong interest in a multidisciplinary team to help her patients towards optimal health.

Recognised as an expert in clear aligner treatment and an Invisalign Apex Provider 2024-2025, Isa also shares her passion through teaching, mentoring and speaking, with a focus on sharing the importance of prevention and early orthodontics. She’s undergoing a Diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy and as an avid learner she recently enrolled herself in a PhD in airway-focused Orthodontics in Spain.

Isa is a dedicated mum of her daughter and enjoys spending time with her family, long walks with her small breed dog, baking (especially Portuguese deserts) alongside reading, and loves listening to music.
