Originally from the picturesque town of Valença do Minho in northern Portugal, Joana earned her dental degree from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at Universidade Católica Portuguesa. After gaining experience practicing in Portugal, she moved to Bristol, inspired by her love for art, especially music. Known for her kindness and reassuring approach, Joana has a natural ability to put anxious patients at ease.

As a general dentist, Joana has explored all areas of dentistry and developed a particular passion for restorative and aesthetic treatments. In 2025, she is furthering this expertise by pursuing a master’s degree in Aesthetic Dentistry at King’s College London.
