Sedation Dentistry for Nervous Patients
If you’re nervous or anxious visiting the dentist, you’re not alone. We’d like to introduce you to a technique that’s helped thousands of patients in Bristol and beyond finally get the treatment they need.
Sedation dentistry can help phobic patients and those who feel nervous approaching dental treatment.
Sedatives ease you into a peaceful, relaxed state in which you’ll remain conscious throughout, but will feel nothing.
Performed by Queen Square Dental Clinic’s team of qualified IV-sedation dentists, the relaxing anti-anxiety treatment could change your mind about dental appointments for good.
From fillings to extractions and everything in between, Sedation dentistry can help you feel relaxed about almost all dental treatments. We can even administer sedation during your routine hygiene appointment.

Phobia-Friendly Dentists
We’ve created a warm and welcoming atmosphere where you can meet with clinicians to answer any questions before receiving treatment.
We’re happy to explain more about sedation dentistry at an informal consultation, where we can also talk about other calming techniques to help put your mind at rest.

Sedation Dentistry FAQs
Will I be completely unconscious?
No. IV sedation means making you relaxed, not unconscious. You won’t remember anything about treatment afterwards, so it may feel as though you were not conscious.
Is it painful?
No. You can’t feel a thing when you’re IV sedated, even though you’re awake.
Can I go back to work after treatment?
You should always rest for the rest of the day after undergoing any kind of sedation. If you feel okay the next day, then you can go back to work, but only the next day.
Which treatments does sedation dentistry work best with?
Sedation dentistry can help you feel relaxed during crown and bridge work, fillings, implants, oral surgery (including wisdom tooth removal and apicectomy procedures) root canal, veneers, cosmetic bonding and more. You can even have sedation while undergoing routine hygiene therapy.
